DAY 10 | Some Doors Only Open in Prayer
Colossians 4.3
I’ve learned that most meaningful movement in life happens through doors.
Some open easily. Some stay shut no matter how hard you push. And some only open after seasons of waiting, praying, and trusting that God is working even when nothing seems to be happening. In ministry and in everyday life, it’s tempting to believe that progress is purely about effort. If I plan enough, hustle enough, speak to the right people, things will work out. This is especially true if you’re a natural networker. But Scripture tells a different story. Paul asks the church to pray, not for easier circumstances, but that God would open a door for the Word. In other words, real opportunity for impact comes from God’s hand, not just human initiative.Open doors are not just new jobs, platforms, or connections. Most times, an open door is a softened heart.
A spiritual conversation that comes out of nowhere. A moment to pray with someone. A chance to speak hope in a season of despair. These are the doors that change lives, including our own.So we pray for favor, not so we can build our own name, but so the name of Jesus can be known. We pray for doors to open in our city, in our workplaces, in our families, and in the everyday places we find ourselves. And we trust that when God opens a door, no amount of opposition can shut it.Today, ask God to open doors for the gospel through your life, and to give you boldness and sensitivity to recognize them when they appear.
