Baptism is an important step of obedience in the life of a believer. It's not the source of our salvation, but the public declaration of our commitment to follow Jesus — a new chapter in your faith journey, and we'd love to celebrate it with you.

Should I get baptized?
For believers in Jesus, baptism is about following His example. In Matthew 3:16, we see Jesus getting baptized before beginning His ministry — setting the model for all believers to follow. When we get baptized, we take a step of obedience that aligns with God's word (Matthew 28:19).
Baptism also symbolizes what Christ has done for us. Just as Jesus died, was buried, and rose again, baptism represents leaving behind our old way of life and stepping into a new one in Him (Romans 6:4). You're made new.

What is the significance of baptism?
Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus. It doesn't save you, but it pictures what's already true. You've died to your old life and been raised to new life in Christ. It's an act of obedience, not a requirement for salvation.
Can my kids get baptized?
Yes, once they can articulate their own faith in Jesus. We'll talk with you and your child beforehand to make sure they understand what they're doing and why.
Do I need to be a part of Legacy to be baptized here?
No. We'd love to celebrate this step with you whether or not you call Legacy home. However, being planted in a local church is a next step that should be taken if you're going to get baptized.
What do I wear for baptism?
We will provide you with a t-shirt. Please wear dark-colored bottoms that you don't mind getting wet, bring a change of clothes and a towel.
Should I be baptized again?
If you were baptized as a believer, by immersion, after trusting in Jesus, no need to repeat it. If you were baptized as an infant or before you personally trusted Christ, we'd encourage believer's baptism now, since Scripture consistently ties baptism to a person's own faith.
